Hiking in the Sierra Magica de Puebla

Hiking is the perfect opportunity to discover great landscapes and connect with nature, not only will it allow you to know new places with abundant vegetation, but it is also an ideal activity that provides physical and emotional balance.

The Sierra Magica de Puebla has a great variety of routes for hiking, it is formed by 18 municipalities, 7 of which are Magical Towns, here are some options for you;

Arcoiris Waterfalls, Honey.

In the heart of the forest of the charming municipality of Honey is an eco-tourist park made up of 10 waterfalls along 10 kilometers of route, of all these waterfalls the one that stands out the most is the Arcoiris waterfall, with an approximate fall of 20 meters, during the walk you will feel how all your senses awaken while you let yourself be captivated by the authentic forest landscapes.

Tejocotal Dam, Acaxochitlán.

A hidden wonder between the Sierra Norte de Puebla and the great valleys of Hidalgo, perfect for nature and relaxation lovers. Other than hiking, you can practice activities such as fishing, camping, and boat or horseback riding.

In the surroundings of the dam you can find places to enjoy delicious traditional food, such as the famous sopes and tlacoyos.

Aconco Waterfalls, Tetela de Ocampo.

Located 30 minutes from the center of the town of Tetela de Ocampo, two impressive waterfalls of 35 and 50 meters; to reach them you must cross the path of Xaltatempa Canyon and the balcony of the vultures. In the complex you will find other activities such as rappel, zip line or visit the forest nursery.

Barranca de los Jilgueros, Zacatlán.

The magical town of Zacatlan has impressive natural views, Barranca de los Jilgueros is a natural attraction located 300 meters from the town square, counts 400 meters deep and it is  crossed by the San Pedro River. In ancient times, pre-hispanic populations lived on its slopes, leaving a record of their lives that you can appreciate on your hike.
